I will be out of town from february 4-9. I have 2 bucket trucks and i am wanting to sell either one, and keep the other. This listing is for the shorter wheelbase, 4x4 truck, but i will also briefly describe the other one in the last paragraph. The truck: this is a 2001 4wd f-450 with testa a-37 non insulated aerial lift. It's powered by a 7. 3 powerstroke diesel / 4r100 automatic transmission. The engine starts very easy. The transmission shifts perfect and the fluid is a nice color red & is not burnt. Once the truck is warmed up, there is no need to wait for the glow plugs - it fires right back up. It has almost no blow by & i will add a video to show this in the near future. Mechanically, the only problem it has is that it does pull slightly to the right. It's not that bad & the steering is very tight, but i just want to be honest. The brake rotors have lots of meat & look virtually new. The biggest negative to the truck is that the cab is very rusty on the rockers and underneath. The engine oil pan and transmission oil pan are not rusty. I do have a cab that i am willing to install for an additional $2,000 and it is from north carolina and has absolutely no rust underneath. The aerial: the manual states that the a-37 can be extended to a working height of 42' and a horizontal side reach of 25' 6". It also has a total payload capacity of 350 pounds. I have owned several bucket trucks and have found that this type is the most practical when working on buildings because the geometry of the lower boom, allows the upper boom to break over the roof line, as seen in the photos extending over the barn. Also, this aerial runs off 12 volt electric over hydraulic power & has a backup electric pump. It has 2 very large napa 8d batteries (1,400 cca each) that are located in the bed area and are independent of the trucks batteries. Those batteries were made in 2016 and look like new. There is wiring that has been disconnected in one of the compartments where it looks like an inverter was installed, then removed. It's also a 2001 7. 3 powerstroke, but it's 2wd and has a 2' longer wheelbase. Between the 2 utility bodies, there are enough doors and latches to make 1 nice utility body. The spare boom has a few pieces missing, but it's mostly there. This truck came from mississippi and is extremely clean and rust free underneath. It has 337,000 miles on it and does have blow by, but still starts fairly easy in the cold and also makes good power. The transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears. I have only driven this truck locally (30 mile radius), to help buddies trim their trees. The pto works, but i removed the hydraulic pump and plumbed an onan generator/hydraulic power unit to it instead. I did this because i was using way too much fuel while trimming trees. The little kubota 3 cylinder diesel is much easier on fuel, so i could just turn the truck off and run the generator instead. It's also handy having 110v power in the bucket, via extension cord. This truck is very solid and the main things it has going for it is the fact that it's a 7. 3 and that it's rust free. The engines kind of tired and it needs cosmetic attention. I am also looking for $13,500 for this truck or $11,000 without the generator & i will hook the pto driven pump back up. Located in sheffield village, oh 44054, which is about 20 miles west of cleveland. These things are rock solid and don't need to be bulletproofed. Because they came from the factory, bulletproof.
